Summary

The Business Analyst position is responsible for performing the technical analysis necessary to assist in developing, managing and testing product requirements and enhancements.  The Analyst is responsible for identifying, investigating, and quantifying customer-facing problems, escalating as necessary and collaborating with other team members to resolve issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with management and other internal personnel to generate solutions for product design and functionality
  • Analyze requests and develop technical solutions to meet the requirements
  • Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability
  • Translate requirements and solutions into specifications. The primary audience for these specifications is the development teams and QA
  • Collaborate with QA to develop test cases based on requirements and assist in testing
  • Troubleshoot and investigate issues reported by internal and external customers. Determine the urgency of the issue and work with management on potential solutions’ viability and timeframe for implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to work with customers and employees in a professional manner
  • Problem-solving and technical fluency with demonstrated troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of XML and experience working with schemas
